Is Gwen Ifil really the best person to moderate the VP debate?

We all remember the last time most of us thought about Gwen Ifil: the VP debate of four years ago.

If you watch the Cheney/Edwards debate from four years ago reasonably, not passionately, and pay close attention to her, not the candidates, you'll see an obvious bias in favor of Edwards. Hell, at one point she accidentally gave Edwards more time than he was supposed to get.

Now, she is writing a book "The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama" set to come out in January. The book that aims to "shed new light" on Democratic candidate Barack Hussein Obama II and other "emerging young African American politicians" who are "forging a bold new path to political power."

This is probably a legitimate topic for a book, as long as said book is written without bias. I also understand why Gwen Ifil is excited that BHO2 is on the cusp of the Presidency. But when you consider that excitement and the fact the central figure of her book is BHO2, may I suggest that she maybe isn't the best and most fair choice to moderate the VP debate.

How come there is only one moderator?

People to Blame: Jon Stewart

John Stewart is an actor and comedian. He is the host of comedy skit show "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central. The problem with Jon Stewart is that young and uninformed voters watch his show and think it is real news. The simple fact is that Stewart and his producers are simply aiding the brainwashing efforts of the Left.  The truly sad thing is that the concept of the show isn't even original: it's a rip-off of the "Weekend Update" originally created for Saturday Night Live by Chevy Chase.

People to Blame: Mike Ditka

Mike Ditka, the former coach of the Chicago Bears is currently a restaurateur, sports broadcaster, and real estate investor. He currently resides in Chicago.

I will blame Mike Ditka is Barak Hussein Obama II is elected POTUS because after Jack Ryan's senate campaign self-destructed under a sex scandal in 2004 the Republican Party of Illinois begged 'Iron Mike' to run against Obama, but Ditka refused.

I remember standing in the middle of the crowd outside Ditka's Restaurant on Chestnut Street in the affluent neighborhood called 'Gold Coast' in Chicago while Judy Barr Topinka, then the Chairman of the Illinois Republican Party, made her case to Ditka. I remember how disappointed the crowd was when the announcement was made that Ditka would not run citing reasons that were all quite selfish.

Eventually, the Illinois Republicans went to 'Plan B', then 'Plan C' an so on until Alan Keyes agreed to run. By then the damage was done.

Most political experts agree that had Ditka agreed to run, today 98% of Americans would have never heard of Barak Hussein Obama II.
